OUR IMPACT
According to a study published by Citibank in 2015, prompt action against the growing threat of Climate Change will save $1.8 trillion by 2040, while it is estimated that no action would cause losses of $44 trillion. Simply put, the cost of doing nothing is far greater than that of immediate action. The evidence to support this claim can be seen in the period between 2000-2004, when Britain grew its economy by 27% while implementing regulations to cut carbon emissions. As at 2012, CO2 emissions rose by 1.1%, while GDP rose by 3.5%. Therefore, it is estimated that the cost-benefit ratio, that is the ratio of the present value to the benefits of the costs, is 1:5. It is obvious that the benefits accrued, exceed economic costs for the options under consideration.
THE TIME IS NOW, when a concerted global effort would yield significant results in the fight to save our threatened planet. It is with this glimpse of hope that CLIMATE AND ECOLOGICAL PROTECTION INIATIVE (CEPI) was birthed. We are a not-for-profit organization with genuine passion for active reduction of carbon emission. With affiliation to Carbon Action Europe; we are predisposed to real time resources (including human) to facilitate our projects and one of such projects is the Lagos Greenhouse Gas Inventory Database. The CEPI professional team has extensive experiences in delivering a robust Greenhouse Gas Inventory database that is globally recognized and acceptable.
